Big Bang National Science Fair: A Platform for Young Indian Innovators

The Big Bang National Science Fair is a flagship initiative that celebrates innovation, creativity, and scientific curiosity among school students across India. Organized in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Coimbatore West, this annual event provides a national platform for young innovators to explore, experiment, and exhibit their ideas that can shape a better future.

Designed exclusively for Indian students, from rural government schools to international institutions, the fair encourages participants to think beyond textbooks and develop real-world solutions using science and technology.

With inspiring keynote speakers such as Dr. Mayilsamy Annadurai, Former Director of ISRO Satellite Centre; Air Commodore Ajay Kunnath, Indian Air Force; and Thiru. M. Sivaguru Prabhakaran I.A.S., Commissioner, Coimbatore Corporation, the event ignites a passion for discovery, critical thinking, and teamwork among students.

Our Role and Impact

As a strategic partner, iExplore Foundation played a pivotal role in mentoring participants, facilitating project development, and collaborating with industry and academic experts. Supported by Atal Innovation Mission and NITI Aayog, the Foundation continues to empower young innovators through experiential learning and STEM-based programs.

Through initiatives like Big Bang, iExplore Foundation remains committed to nurturing curiosity, fostering innovation, and empowering the next generation of changemakers who will shape the future of science and technology.

Big Bang 2024: Igniting Innovation

The 2024 edition of Big Bang marked an incredible milestone in student innovation.
In partnership with iExplore Foundation for Sustainable Development and Rotary Club of Coimbatore West, the fair brought together:

  • 424 young innovators presenting prototypes and real-world solutions

  • 105 teams with 164 projects

  • Over 5,000 attendees including students, educators, researchers, and industry professionals

Participants showcased creativity and technical brilliance across diverse domains such as robotics, renewable energy, environmental sustainability, and smart systems. The event also featured hands-on mentorship sessions, industry talks, and live demonstrations that inspired participants to see themselves as problem-solvers of the future.

Big Bang 2025: Expanding Horizons

The 2025 edition elevated the fair to new heights, drawing participation from seven states across India.
With 1,100 students and 258 submissions, 128 standout projects were selected by a panel of esteemed scientists and industry experts for their potential to address global challenges.

Innovations focused on Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Sustainable Systems, and Smart Technologies, highlighting how young minds are driving solutions for a sustainable and technology-enabled future.
Winners of Big Bang 2025 earned the opportunity to represent India at the prestigious IEEE YESIST12 global innovation challenge in Malaysia, showcasing their ideas on an international platform.
